The referee will determine if a field is playable. In the absence of the referee or assistant referees, both coaches must agree to play under existing conditions. Association officials may also determine if a field is unplayable; if they do so then the teams and the referees involved will be notified as to any game cancellations or changes. 2. Hazardous playing conditions are defined as follows and determined by the referees: a. tornado warning or watch, the game is cancelled; b. lightning/thunder, the game is delayed 30 minutes from last occurrence; c. heavy rain showers or hail; d. severe wind conditions; e. extreme heat or humidity; f. icy field conditions; g. extremely wet or muddy field. Any of the above conditions might serve as a cause for the delay and/or postponement of the game. The safety of the players is paramount. If games are postponed for inclement weather or poor field conditions, the coaches will contact the Division Manager to reschedule the game. |
